South Korean fans jumped for joy Wednesday as sporting icon Kim Yu-Na set a world record in the figure skating short program at the Vancouver Olympics, breaking the 220+ point mark. After the success of the Beijing summer Olympics in 2008, China is setting its sights on hosting a future winter games. As part of that plan, huge developments are underway in the north of the country, building new ski resorts and runs. Unlike this year’s games in Vancouver, resort owners say northern China never has a problem with a lack of snow. Al Jazeera’s Tony Birtley reports from the fast-growing resort of Duolemeidi. Raw video of fatal luge accident crash that killed olympic star: abcnews.go.com Winter Olympics 2010: Nodar Kumaritashvili luge death due to "driver error." Kumaritashvili died on Friday in a training accident at the Winter Olympics, after crashing near the end of the track at the Whistler Sliding Center. He went over the wall of the track and hit a steel pole near the finish line. This was a tragic event that should have never happened and could have been stopped if the track would have been safe. This was not his fault, it was the track's fault. What do you think?
