I think you have an amazing motivation!!! However, to be realistic I am doubtful that you will make elite in 3.5 years and be established enough to make the Olympic team. I feel horrible about telling you this, but I want to answer your question honestly. Olympians start their competitive careers when they are around 6 years old and 3.5 years prior to the Olympics are competing nationally and on the world stage. Also, this next olympics will have a reduction of team members from 6 to 5 which means even less of a chance :( I really admire your dedication to this amazing sport and I hope you continue to shoot for the moon because if you miss you’ll be among the stars ;) Good luck and have fun!!!

If your 16, your body could be very worn out by the time the Olympics come around. Countries usually look for younger gymnasts. But don’t let this stop you! Try your hardest, and be the best that you can be, and that is all that you can do. If it doesn’t work out, oh well. Other things will come along for you!

    Good luck:)
